Julia Foenander is a global roamer, archivist, freelance portrait and fine art photographer who was acknowledged as a "highly commended" finalist in Sydney's prestigious 'Shoot the Chef' photographic competition. After initially studying at PSC Melbourne she went on to study a BA of Photography at RMIT before residing in Europe for several years. She is also a producer, writer and former actor and has worked professionally in Japan, Taiwan, China, Germany, Sweden and New Zealand.
In 2013 Julia founded 'Raconteur Productions' that creates live theatre and cabaret including multi media works blending imagery with performance. She has spent the last decade touring Australia working alongside Arts Vic, RAV, Arts QLD, NT and SA governments and numerous other bodies such as The Perth State Theatre Trust. This varied role in production included creating community engagement programs throughout Performing Arts Centres and Galleries Australia wide. Raconteur Productions is also deeply engaged in the corporate world providing and executing concepts for major corporations including international clients in SE Asia.
Julia has photographed numerous artists throughout her career, many of whom feature on this website. Finally in 2024 she is returning to her roots of photography archiving and releasing several decades of work. Currently she is based in St Kilda Melbourne and is continuing her studies at PSC planning to exhibit her work in 2025.
